Ara Malikian will perform at Fox Theatre to present his new tour.

Ara Malikian presents his new tour, “Intrus”, at the Fox Theatre Redwood City on April 19, 2026, at 8:00 PM PST. This tour is a deeply personal journey that begins with the anguish of not fitting in anywhere, ultimately embracing the richness of his multicultural identity and finding a home in the world through art and music.

In Lebanon, I wasn’t considered “Lebanese enough” because I was of Armenian origin. Armenians didn’t consider me “Armenian enough” because I was born in Lebanon. And when I settled in Europe, I wasn’t considered “European” because I wasn’t born there.

This experience also shaped my relationship with music. Every note carried the nostalgia of a home that didn’t exist, a place where I never fully belonged.

However, this feeling of being an “intruder” gave me the opportunity to explore and appreciate fascinating music and cultures beyond my own tradition, allowing me to bring my voice and multicultural experience into each performance.

Thanks to this “intruder” identity, I discovered that the entire world is my home. My home lives within my body and my soul — an infinite space where identity transforms and music becomes a universal language.
